And so we’ve been you’ve had this wonderful, amazing career. We’re talking about how you’ve gone from South Africa to found your you took a little turn ended up in Toronto, Canada of all places. But before we go there, anger, fun ROI. I do have one question. And I know you come to our show. So you might know this question. But Damon, we’re gonna let’s just let’s just get it right out there. Right. Let’s just get the the My only question out there. Ingor when you were a little girl growing up in South Africa, who was your hero? Who was your hero that just inspired this just wonderful, amazing woman that we’re just honored and privileged to have here today. Who’s your hero as a little girl growing up?
Ingor van Rooi 02:05
Wow. I love that question. And David knows I asked it as well on my show. Nice. Yeah. Because I it’s so interesting to get to see who’s behind you as a person. Right? So for me, it was my parents really. I was I was the only girl so of course I was a daddy’s girl. But my mom too was super inspiring. i You will often hear me quota. When I when I speak about different things because I’ve learned so much from both my mom and my dad. Just amazing, inspiring and people that love people. That’s why I am here and who I am today.
Curt Anderson 02:55
People that love people that might be our first little my track. I actually love that. So guys, happy Monday. I see we got friends here today we’ve got Whitney’s and now she’s saying man I am all jazzed up our dear friend Dan bigger just weren’t loving the shores of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Ingor van Rooi 03:56
Chris, mom, Teresa.
Curt Anderson 03:59
Chris and Therese. Okay, so let’s think so let’s get a little bit further. So you in early stage, start your career, you have a 20 year corporate career, but you don’t look old enough to have been working 20 years in corporate my goodness gracious probably started when you were like 10 years old. But you’re talking about your corporate career kind of like your path. I want to lead up to like what kicked off your entrepreneurial journey. But before we go there, share a little bit about your corporate career and like how you applied like this networking into superpower of connecting. Let’s go there. Let’s hear about your path. And what what took you to lead us to here?
Ingor van Rooi 04:35
Well, if you want to know just one thing about me is I love people. And that has been a theme from high school all the way up until now. In my corporate career, I worked as an executive assistant for almost 20 years. throwing in a little bit of other things as well. I was a lecturer in South Africa. Before I came here, but my corporate career really was me behind the scenes working and making everything happen from behind the curtain.
Curt Anderson 05:14
Oh, you gotta You can’t leave us hanging on that you got to dig deeper command, like curious minds out there looking like the chatbox is on fire. I know I’m crazy
Damon Pistulka 05:23
here.
Curt Anderson 05:25
gang is here. So like, you know, Hey, Katie, let’s see, we’ve got all sorts of stuff here. Katie is saying this, you know, she loved your video, or loves video. So let’s dig a little deeper pitch. And let’s go. Let’s hear more about your corporate career. Like, were there any certain maybe some wins or like some certain things in your career where you’re like, boy, this is really the direction I like to go. Or maybe even like some missteps of like, Oh, I’m not so good over here. But I really find myself I love people love connecting. Sure. Give us a couple of examples where you
Ingor van Rooi 05:56
Sure? Well, in my last, my last role in the corporate world, I found myself in the construction industry. And that is very, very, very similar to what we encounter in manufacturing. People do things the way they always done them in time. And I worked in the IT department. So I got to see that first hand. How you know, people do things the way they’ve always done, they’re resistant to change. And, you know, it just reminded me of a story that I told my students when I was a lecturer. And that story was really just to depict something, it was more a parable of our friends. So I told the story of a little girl that was learning to cook. And from her mom, right and among shoulder like, you know, you first you clean the kitchen, the chicken, and then you cut, you cut this piece of the chicken off before you put it in the oven. And the government didn’t monitor it. Why? And the mom said, Well, that’s the way that I was taught by your grandmother. And so when the girl saw her grandmother the next time she said, Granny, why is it that you cut off the spider, the chicken when you when you’re gonna cook it. And the grandmother said, that’s the way that I was taught by my mother. And she was privileged enough to know her great grandmother. So when they the next time they visited the great grandmother, she asked her great grandmother, why is it that you cut off the spot of the chicken when you cook it? And the great grandmother said, well, in those days, when I learned to cook from my mother, the oven was smaller than what you have today. And that is so true. When you think about like life. Now. We want to continue things the way that we’ve always done, but it doesn’t fit with the times that we’re in right now. So social media, for me, is something where people want they avoid it, because they’re afraid of it because it’s new. But really, do we really want to do something? The way that we’ve always done? I don’t think so. We need to adapt with the times.
Curt Anderson 08:27
What a brilliant story. Thank you for sharing that anger. That was absolutely yeah, that was good. Well, we don’t necessarily need as I always stay in the oven, right? It’s like ovens too small. And so now for generations, we’re just doing it, this is how we’ve always done it. And it just doesn’t make sense. So let’s go here. So you in your corporate career, probably doing extremely well for yourself. And again, you took a little left turn, you find yourself in North America hanging out over in Toronto, was there an event that occurred? What inspired the leap of faith to get into entrepreneurship, and to start sharing your superpowers with like our amazing folks here on LinkedIn, but what was that entrepreneurial leap of faith in your world? What happened?
Ingor van Rooi 09:09
Well, I felt the calling to entrepreneurship for many years. But I was afraid of failure of judgment, of not knowing what I was doing. And in 2018, I lost my job, actually. And that should have been the perfect segue for me to start, but I didn’t. I continue to look for something in the corporate world. And I didn’t find my corporate home, but then 2020 hit, and it was the pandemic for all of us. I was working in a team job at the time, so I had to stop working for that time. And a friend of mine, actually, I she approached me and we had a long conversation, something that really propelled me into onto Phoenicia because she asked me, What are you doing, you know, for work? And I said, Well, to be honest with you, I’m afraid to start a business. But I’m thinking about it. And then, you know, I’m also looking for work. And she said, Well, why don’t you start a business? And I say, No, I’m just, I really am too afraid. And she said, Well, if you’re, if you fail, you can always go back to corporate. And that was really a mic drop moment, or mind blowing moment for me, because I’ve never thought about it like that. Because we as people are adults, we see failure as ultimate, something that it’s almost as if you’re gonna drop off the face if you fail in doing something, right. And I don’t know what I thought would happen. But when she said that, I thought myself, Wow, she’s right. I could go back to the Commonwealth anyway, if I do fail in entrepreneurship, so I, she introduced me to someone and I started my business
Curt Anderson 11:12
that I bought this from our dear friend Gail, how about adaptive spirit? instead? Let’s get curious. A lot of curious people here today. Gail, thank you for sharing. I love that story. And it’s fascinating when you Russian, the student is ready. When the teacher appears, the student is ready with a teacher appears. So Inger, if you don’t mind? Like I just I have like a full script. But I have to stop here for a second. curious minds need to know, as an entrepreneur, like see, there’s somebody out there listening like yeah, in gourd that, like, that’s where I’m at right now. What do you think, like, what were you afraid of? Like, what was the worst? You know, like, you know, maybe it sounds crazy, not because now you’re just as flourishing entrepreneur, but what were some of the fear factor, you know, legitimate fear factors that you were experiencing at that time? That was that was stopping you from taking that plunge? Can you go back to that time and like, share, you know, what was what was putting the pause on you?
Ingor van Rooi 12:07
I think the main thing that many people struggle with, when they do end up going into entrepreneurship is and even as you’re an entrepreneur, you know, because we pivot, right? Yeah, I think the main thing that people struggle with is, do I actually have value to share? And I’m here to tell you that yes, you do. Right, we all do.
Curt Anderson 12:35
Right? It’s Do you have value to share? And is somebody going to part with their hard earned money? Yes, I would say you for what, you know, okay, so this person, so this person really has a breakthrough Damien, what do you have? Well, and
Damon Pistulka 12:48
in the thing is, is that value is been with you a long time, and so long, so that you don’t even see it anymore?
Curt Anderson 12:59
Yeah. Yeah. Isn’t it fascinating when somebody sees something in you, not necessarily you in dirt, but in us, or just in general, as somebody who could be a coach could be a mentor, it could be a parent, you know, whatever it might be, could be a co worker, somebody sees something in you that maybe we struggle to see in ourselves. And this person believed in you saw the superpower that you had, and just by, again, by just sharing that with you brought it up. So you could go on into different fields, different aspects, how about how and why did you choose choose a particular field that you’ve pursued?
Ingor van Rooi 13:41
It’s so funny, because I started my business as an administrative assistant. That’s what I did. But I became a coach, because I realized that I actually have a gift for strategy. And I only, I only develop that because I only saw it I think, because I work with people that were able to pinpoint that in me, and to show me to give me that mirror. So that I could see and this the reason why I do it now is because I want to be that mirror for people. I want to show them the qualities that they have that are transferable that are able to add value for others.
Curt Anderson 14:30
Okay, that was that I don’t know who’s keeping track that was like my job number. After pretty great line. Dr. Brittany, thank you for joining us today. Yeah, well Charles show up in a slowing apocalypse and entrepreneurship. And I absolutely love that. So I don’t know if we’re ready for this. So I had the honor privilege Daymond probably about the same time as you we were connected with Ingo through our dear mutual friend love of our life. Yeah, well, gosh, we just gal we couldn’t express our love enough for you. So you came into my radar about that time and just boy gal just rants and raves about you, you’ve been a dear friend and just kind of we’ve been crossing paths in that circle. And just you know, as I’ve gotten to know you and just seeing you as a fire or just watch your posts, we’ve done events together. I’ve just watched you just grow and blossom. It’s just been wonderful. You introduce me to a really cool term. I think you know what term I’m referring to? Do you not? Can you please enlighten the crowd? If there’s anybody out there that is unfamiliar with this term? Like, please educate us on this term that I am referring to?
Ingor van Rooi 15:37
The term that you’re referring to is a boon to you, be you in to you. And Ubuntu is an ancient African principle with its roots in South Africa like me. And it means I am because we are
Curt Anderson 15:59
okay, timeout. Yep.
Damon Pistulka 16:01
He’s got hold up for a minute. Yeah, yeah. Like Alright, so
Curt Anderson 16:04
let’s see. Here we got Mike drop. Here. We’ve got you know, your Katie saying you’re such an inspiration. We’ve got head as a ray, here it is, guys. So look it up. Can you please share again, here we’ve got another one here. We’ve got hashtag sisterhood, guys. Thanks, man. This is this is on fire. Keep the comments rolling. If you’re not familiar with your boy, you can just you’re just getting a little sliver of what a blessing how amazing she is you absolutely want to connect with her on LinkedIn. So can you share that one more time? What does it mean?
Ingor van Rooi 16:39
It means I am because we are. It’s really the to remind you of your humanity. To remind you that no man is an island.
Curt Anderson 16:52
Keep it going sister. Yeah, keep it up. Just keep it just just and and again, please continue.
Ingor van Rooi 17:01
And the reason why I believe in this principle so much is really who I am today. Would not be I wouldn’t be here. If it wasn’t for the people that I’ve had in my circle. You know, I’m just looking at the comments. Even Evan is my brother, by the way. So he’s, he’s Yes. Thank you. And, you know, even though he’s my brother and we we’ve grown, we’ve grown up together, of course, but even he has influenced who I am. And look, here. This is Chris Lynn, Katie, Gale, Karen Rivera. She probably doesn’t know it. But she’s also been there and and influenced who I am, the two of you have influenced who I am. There’s John Wick lino, Dr. Brittany McCoy. And I have just recently connected we’re actually going to be meeting for the first time later on today. But you know, people around me have influenced who I am. And the experiences that I’ve had in my life have influenced who I am. I’m showing up as today. Right. And I think that’s the same for everyone. But we just don’t realize it. We just don’t, we don’t know the label that we should attach to it. Because honestly, community is paramount.
Curt Anderson 18:31
Community is paramount. And what I love talking about in the mirror, the other thing is like looking out the window, you know, and like looking out the window and seeing like, you know, Hey, I see the other kids playing out there. Do we stay inside and like, you know, we’re a little bit timid and like, Man, am I good enough? Am I gonna strike out? Am I going to, or they’re gonna tease me, you know, all these fears that we put inside our mind. And I didn’t know we’re gonna go here today, Ingrid. I know, juicy. This. Alright, so let’s keep it rolling. Okay, so great corporate career, guys. I’m getting chills even talking to you right now. Like I’m layered up. So let’s, you are a community builder. Did you see? Did you see portions of the super power coming out during your corporate career of like, Man, I’m pretty darn good at this of like, building these communities networking building, you know, bringing people together? Or did it really just kind of blossom when you started your entrepreneurial career? What what did that look like?
Ingor van Rooi 19:30
Well, I said earlier that, you know, my love for people has always been something that’s part of me. And I think, to be honest with you, I didn’t see it at the time. But retrospectively, I can see it. Because I was I was that kid in the playground. That was friends with all the different friends group. I was the person that would just adapt and become part of a different age. In a different community, depending on what they do when they common interests, I was that person in the corporate world that was friends with at least one person in the different departments. And now that I look at it, I realize that not everybody has that gift. And so now I need to now that I see it, I need to make sure that I use it for the betterment of my community of the people that are around me.
Curt Anderson 20:32
Okay, and just, we got to pull up some chats here. The test is rolling. Yeah, we’ve got Dave Hey, Dave Chrysler’s in the house, man. No, it’s getting serious when Dave Chrysler’s here, we’ve got, you know, Karen saying, Hey, Nicole, Donnelly is here dropping comments in guard, this is just absolute fire. We’ve got all sorts of love, and just everybody’s just chatting it up and dropping, you know, we got Davis here. So guys, thank you for joining us here. So even Nicole here for a minute. So are somebody out there and you know, curveball, last job, maybe they’re just not happy with the job that they’re at wherever they’re at, you know, like, it sounds like, you know, when COVID A lot of folks became that accidental entrepreneur, right? Out of survival, like, you know, well, I just lost my job. Now, what do I do? For somebody that’s out there that maybe were you were in 2018 2020? Is like you took this leap of faith? What advice? What suggestions? What inspiration? Do you have to share for them without whatever were the things that they’re facing right now? How what could you share with these folks?
Ingor van Rooi 21:37
Well, being a connection capitalist, I’d like to share my Three C’s with you. Here we
Curt Anderson 21:43
- And do you have your pencil sharpened?
Damon Pistulka 21:46
Always keep it handy. Right? So
Curt Anderson 21:50
all right, everybody, get your pen, get your computer, get your phone out, get your notes, if you’re on a treadmill, wherever you’re at just stop pause, Inger please lay it on us.
Ingor van Rooi 22:00
The whole point of this on me sharing the three C’s is for you to to realize that, in order for you to become better. In order for you to grow and flourish, you need to tap into your community. And the way that you do it with is with my three C’s, which are connect. So I want you to connect with the people that are in your community, people that you see are common connections, or people that you have something in common with. So connect, then you need to communicate. Don’t just add people as a number within your connection list. But communicate with them. You know, and I’m not saying bombard people, we don’t want any pitch slaps. But communicate with people and genuinely don’t. Also, don’t send them a whole blurb on who you are and what you do and how you can help them and how you can work with them. No, just communicate. And I’m talking about simple things like think about when you’re outside, walking in your neighborhood. What do you do? Do you just go and give somebody a business card and say, Hey, walk with me? Or do you just start and give them your elevator pitch? No, we don’t do that. Right? You don’t let him pass. And so why are we doing it online? The pitch slap is a no, no. But communicate with him genuinely. And it starts with just Hello. How are you? It doesn’t have to be a whole spiel just Hello, how are you? And then the next thing is, oh my gosh, sorry. I just got I caught a comment.
Curt Anderson 23:51
So recently hysterical thing so Nicole says it’s Johnny. The call, you’re gonna die. My daughter comes home the other night she did a sleepover friends. She goes, Hey, have you ever seen the movie called The Shining? So my daughter just watched that Saturday night and she and so I explained what it’s Johnny. So indeed, for Johnson No. Hey, it’s the shining and we’re from Dave
Ingor van Rooi 24:14
the comment that caught my eye was I have a VA for pitch laughs DME for details. On the clean
Curt Anderson 24:23
chat Yeah, only John would have a VA for the pitch. For keeping keep the chat on fire, we’re gonna try to stay. We have connect, we have communication. So we’re on number two, we’ll get back on track. So but keep the calculator
Ingor van Rooi 24:37
so connected and communicate and I’m talking about just really communicate value and add value. Comment on people’s posts, but don’t just say great post thanks for sharing, you know, speak about specifically what it is that you’d like To add value to that post, right? And then the last one is collaborate. And the reason why I encourage people to collaborate with one another is it helps you grow. collaborating with others is really a way for you to become better. And it’s a way for you to add value to somebody else. And if you’d like a prime example of that, just go on to YouTube, and type in Mariah Carey collaborations, and look at all the different genres she collaborated with. She grew because of it.
Curt Anderson 25:40
Wow. That’s a great example. I never thought of that. McGovern, Mariah Carey raishin, right, the the queen? So let’s go with your English is you launch your business, scary sighted? What were what was the emotion that you’re going through? And then talk about how did how did this three pronged approach start coming into play for you as you built your business. So first, how you know the motion you’re going through when you first launch your business, and then talk about how the three pronged approach is really gonna come into your wheelhouse?
Ingor van Rooi 26:14
Um, yeah, when I started my business, I was extremely scared. I was just like I said, afraid to fail, afraid of judgment. And now that I look back, I’m like, why?
Curt Anderson 26:31
What? What do you think was like game after game? And you deal with entrepreneurs all day? Like, and guys, you know, drop that in the chat box? Like, you know, what, what naturally? Is it? Are we afraid of like being embarrassed? or afraid of what people will say to me, like, what do you
Damon Pistulka 26:44
I just think I just think that we, as entrepreneurs, we just have this, we worry too much. We don’t really, we don’t really understand, like I said before it we don’t really understand the power inside of us, and the knowledge we have and the things that we can overcome. And I think we’re so short sighted, looking backwards, that we really don’t know what we’ve overcome. But every one of us I think, sets certain goals. Oh, we’re, oh, what? Oh, but you know, we’ve overcome things that, that how many times have we overcome things that look the exact same way? Right, any? And I think we all do it. And it’s, it’s so funny. It’s so funny, we all do it like the way we do.
Curt Anderson 27:30
So in your work, what do you felt? What were some tips or strategies? What were some things that you helped just like kind of plow through. And again, as you’ve created this three pronged approach, that just that you thrive, you know, just walk us through that process.
Ingor van Rooi 27:45
For me, the main thing, the main reason why I was able to overcome it was, I just told myself that I need to focus on my why, and my Why was my daughters and my family, I needed to do it for them, I needed to show my girls that you can do something, even if you’re afraid. That is that was very, very powerful to propel me forward, because we all face things that we’re afraid of. And if I could show them this, and many other things that I’ve done since then, but if I could show them this, that you can do something while you’re afraid of it, I can show them how to overcome their obstacles that they face as well. And then with regards to my three step approach, I developed it last year actually, because I choose a word every year that I need to focus on. And I need to learn about and I need to explore and implement into my life. And last year, my year was my my word for the year was collaboration. And then I realized that you know what, this can help not just me but everyone to become a better version of themselves. So that’s how I did.
Curt Anderson 29:09
Thank you for sharing. Hey, I’ve got to pull up your brother’s Yeah. David, I know you want to add something here. So in Africa, there’s a concept known as Ubuntu, and that’s what we’re talking about. profound sense that we are human only through the humanity of others, that we are to accomplish anything in this world. It will in equal measure be due to the work and achievement of others. Nelson Mandela, what a fantastic quote. Thank you, Evan. What a brilliant awesome they ever gonna shout out to mom and dad for the bro Yeah, I mean, that is today. But yeah, we’ve got chatbox is
Damon Pistulka 29:44
just, it’s just on fire. So awesome. Damon,
Curt Anderson 29:48
what did you like? What did you need? Well, it’s
Damon Pistulka 29:49
so funny that you’re talking about what you’re talking about this morning because this is honestly God I was reading this morning. It said it said find someone to fight for to help you. you overcome your fear didn’t and they talked about your family, your friends, your mom, your dad, whatever. And they The other thing is that talked about his self doubt is not a not a signal to stop. It’s a signal to reflect and learn. And you’re just the living example of it is so awesome. Thank you. Incredible I could just sit here listen to
Curt Anderson 30:22
Daymond John’s speaker for joining us today we’ve got Diane brilliant doing something even though you’re afraid to show our children. He knows Daymond it comes to mind like we had an amazing guest couple years ago Allison Levine Allison adventurer, she she’s a York Times bestselling author climbed all the highest peak of every continent just in chief came out and she said you know what? It’s not. It’s acceptable to be afraid. It’s natural to be afraid as it were afraid, you know, maybe afraid of heights or public speaking, whatever. It’s not that she said what kills is complacency. You know, so it’s okay to be afraid, but it’s complacency. Let’s kill. So injured. Let’s get through, okay. You are an amazing connector collaborator just doing all sorts of wonderful things. And I just like even like with Daymond, myself, I know Damon, we heard name comes up frequently, like hey, anger, this and that. And we’re talking and then you reach out and now you’re on our show. You’ve been on Daymond show a little bit. So say there’s a painful introvert out there. Man, I hear your anger. This is wonderful. But you know what? Who, you know, who wants to hear from me? How do you help like that introvert, get through so they can tap they can take your three pronged approach here, the three C’s, and like how can they start blossoming and start sharing their superpowers? What if you like that person like say to you, you know, few years ago again, but like say somebody is a little bit in tempo, a little timid, a little frayed? What advice do you have for them? Just think that first step.
Ingor van Rooi 31:55
Mmm hmm. I would say to that person that they need to remember that it’s about the message, not the messenger. They need to remember that they must get behind the message. But the message go forth, we don’t care about you and how you present it as long as you bring out your message.
Curt Anderson 32:19
How? Alright, so I’m gonna continue. I’m gonna segue on that, like, how did you find your value? How did you start find like, when you were talking to certain folks, where you like, you know, maybe I’m going to try to like you said, I’m going to start out as a VA, then all sudden, you’re like, Oh, well, I’m gonna help with social media. Oh, I’m gonna help being an organizer. I know, you’ve done tremendous work with gal and many others, like, how do you make Daymond? Like, how did you how did you make that graduate, you know, keep graduating, to enhance your superpowers and really find what you’re best at.
Ingor van Rooi 32:50
It was a number of things. But community again, community is a common theme in everything that I’m going to tell you because it’s true. If it wasn’t for the people that I’ve encountered in my life, I really wouldn’t be here today. And I what happened was on May 13 2021, I was on somebody’s show. And she could tell how timid I was how introverted I was. And she said to me, You know what, I’d like to buy you an hour of my time. So then we can talk a little bit more about who, who you are and what you do, and maybe try to help you get out of your shell. Well, she became my coach. And she pushed me. She didn’t allow me to come up with excuses. She made me show up. And she made me see that I am who I am. But I add value. And I shouldn’t be afraid to be able to step out in out of my comfort zone. And really engage and, and do the things that I want to do the things that I admire. Because the time is now. You can’t wait for tomorrow because it’s not from us for anyone.
Curt Anderson 34:13
This is fantastic. Hey, Mark is here today. So Mark, Happy, Happy Monday to you dude. And Mark. He’s talking about authenticity. I love this. So let’s talk let’s go with the SEC about van. Okay, you were talking about like Don’t be don’t don’t do the pitch slaps. You know, how do you be an authentic communicator collaborator. Let’s talk about value in like you moving forward, your future your goals? Where do you see let’s go there like where do you see yourself? Where do you see your business five years from now? We’re gonna have a five year reunion with Damon and myself right here on this show. So let’s talk about like, what are some goals that you’re let’s go there. Let’s hear it.
Ingor van Rooi 34:53
This is scary because I don’t actually do this. Usually when I have a goal I do Don’t don’t speak about it. Until I’ve achieved it.
Curt Anderson 35:03
How about well, you know, what you have, you’re in a safe place you have look at, like the champion with your stuff. What, what? It’s, you’re in a safe place, let’s work, what are some things that you see yourself going? What are some goals that you want to achieve with your career moving forward.
Ingor van Rooi 35:23
Um, one of the goals that I have is to become a TEDx speaker. I have a coach that but he’s helping me with that. And then speak on stages and we paid for it, not just you know, being asked to, to come and share my wisdom, share everything, but I think the main thing that that’s behind that is for me to be able to see my value. Yeah, for me to know that I am. I am I can add value and I will. And then I don’t know, maybe a TV show. Nice.
Curt Anderson 36:07
Okay, go. She put it out to the universe. Now. Let’s, that’s a perfect segue. Now you have a new program. I think you literally just started like a week ago, right? Yeah. Wonder Woman? Wednesdays, yes. curious minds. Want to know, Wonder Woman. Wednesdays, please share, like, how did this work? How did this dream come about? And again, think back to like, 2018? Did you ever think that you’d be on a live stream on YouTube? Or LinkedIn, on Twitter, on social media? Did you ever think that look at how far how you’ve just crushed these fears, just all these goals that you’ve accomplished? But how did you come up with Wonder Woman Wednesdays?
Ingor van Rooi 36:49
Um, it’s so funny, because I just thinking back to when I first started it, you know, somebody featured me on the LinkedIn profile. And she did this periodically, like, for many people in our community, because she wanted, she wanted other people to grow and to become a better version of themselves and to be able to see themselves in others that she highlighted. And I said to her, you know, I love this concept. I just do you mind if I if I take it and change it for myself? But do something similar? And she said, No, absolutely. And that’s the thing about content or about just doing different things. You see something that somebody else does, you admire it, and then you emulate it, and you, you don’t take exactly what the person does and just do it, but you change it and you you implement it in a way that is authentic to you. Right? So something that has been a theme in my life is women, seeing strong women in my life, seeing them achieve different things. And even women who just, you know, just let me think just who are just being home and being a housewife. They don’t realize that you know, what they don’t want to women as well. So I started doing that post in May of 2021. With the lady who inspired me, she was my first the first person that I featured. And I just took it from there because I had been previously I had been doing a post similar to that, but showing people in our history that many people didn’t know well. But then I realized but they are women yet today that we should give the flowers to right now before they they’re gone. Right? And so I started doing that post and then last year honestly, I’m a Christian. So God told me that I needed to do this to create a show about women and highlighting them but now I’m doing it. I never I didn’t think that I would be able to do it at the scale we I am right now. But yes, I started I launched my first my main show was on March 1 of this year, which so this this coming Wednesday will be my fourth show on on this platform. And Wonder Women Wednesday’s broadcast live on LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and also on an online radio station.
Curt Anderson 39:43

And I traveled I actually traveled to South Africa at the end of of January. And this is a South African radio station. I met with the I actually I had an interview on the radio. And then the station manager requested to speak with me and now I’ve established a sister radio station here in Toronto, Canada.
Curt Anderson 41:04

And also opportunities to work with him to collaborate. And it’s helped me to be able to show who I am and show up authentically. Because really, when you’re alive, there’s no pretending there’s no budget, there’s no editing. No, it’s awesome. You You’re gonna cough you’re gonna cough. Yeah, you’re going to cry. You cannot edit those slides so many times on online, but you know, it’s part of who I am. And it’s allowed me to get to know different people. So it’s a blessing.
