The Honey Wafer Baking Company is a long-standing family business based in Crestwood, Illinois, known for their handmade Honey Wafers. Established in 1925 by Mama Anisi, who brought her recipe from Macedonia, the business initially operated with a simple setup, with Papa Anisi selling the wafers from a cart in Chicago. Over the years, the business evolved, introducing new equipment and packaging, expanding into local retailers, and even becoming the “Official Honey Wafer of the Chicago Cubs” in 2001. In 2006, the bakery was sold to the Lewandowski family, who continue to uphold the tradition of quality and service. Today, Honey Wafers are available in over 250 locations around Chicago and can be purchased online, still made with all natural ingredients and certified Kosher.
