Presentation Transcription
Curt Anderson 00:01
Hey, Damon, what is up, dude? Good morning. Good afternoon. Happy. Wednesday. How are you?
Damon Pistulka 00:08
I’m doing great. Curt, we’re going to have an awesome day. It’s going to be fun. And I just going for it today
Curt Anderson 00:16
at a point. Well, hey, it’s just, it’s a it’s a wonderful day to have a wonderful day. Don’t you think, should we? Hey, what if I do? You want our names in there? Hey, Damon Pistulka, how are you?
Damon Pistulka 00:26
I’m good, man, I’m good. Let’s get this going. Let’s talk a little bit about LinkedIn live. Go live and thrive. We do a little of this. We talk about it a little bit. But you know, LinkedIn live has been a powerful thing for us. Over the years, we were just lamenting that’s actually why we were lamenting us, right? We were just discussing this before we got on because, for whatever reason we are having, I would say, Nice success using LinkedIn live, using live streams to for our business development and other other things, including SEO results.
Curt Anderson 01:06
Yeah, lots of excellent strategies here to apply. And so, you know, so let’s put go. Let’s go now. Damon, I we’ve done, what? How many episodes? Couple, right?
Damon Pistulka 01:14
Few couple, yeah, yeah. I think, I think together, we probably got over 600 now, right? Was
Curt Anderson 01:19
today, the first time that you’ve ever used the word lamenting,
Damon Pistulka 01:23
probably only a few times, maybe, you know,
Curt Anderson 01:26
maybe on Episode 112 Yeah. Hey, one thing I’d love to dive in. You’ve been hot and heavy. You’re reading an awesome book, and you’ve been talking about like, you know, I know it’s, I don’t know, cliche, but you know, you hear it frequently, that unique value proposition, right? So let’s, let’s, how do you tie in LinkedIn live now, you and I, we’ve had some wonderful guests on the show. We had a gentleman who came on the show, and he’s like, you’ve got to describe your saga. What’s your cause, what’s your mission. You know you can your unique value proposition. How marry that with, how do you tie that in with a LinkedIn live strategy for business development?
Damon Pistulka 02:04
Well, I think you know, if you’ve got a unique value proposition, you can a state it without stating it, right? You know,
Curt Anderson 02:15
state it without stating it. Just curious. Minds are burning. We’d love to know, take that deeper, my friend, okay,
Damon Pistulka 02:23
if you look at our LinkedIn live strategy over all yours and mine together, we’ve talked about this several times, many times, many times at length. You know it’s, it’s, how do we help 1000s of business owners thrive, or business people thrive? How do we do that? And we can’t do that, all of that with one on one, because we can’t reach 1000 people. But we can reach 1000s of people by using LinkedIn live to share other people’s knowledge, to share industry information, to share things that they may need to think about share upcoming events that may be beneficial for them. Get put together upcoming events that are live events for people. But through doing all that, you are going to state what your saga is without stating what your saga is, because very rarely do you get up on the on the podium and say, Listen, we need to jump in this boat and go across the the ocean and fight a war, you know, and then get a billion people to jump in. They really need to feel what you’re about before you’re going to get in. Do that, right? And LinkedIn live helps us do that,
Curt Anderson 03:35
yeah. So it’s selling your costs on your mission, your purpose, your passion, how you help others. And I think that’s the key. Is like, when you come in and just dedicated to, you know, a couple things is, what’s a great way to, number one, help, right? The other, the big way, best way to do that, what you know, what we thought is, how do you educate, right? Just being that fierce, unapologetic educator, and it doesn’t matter what you know, you know, we’ve worked with a lot of folks are like, oh, you know. Like, you know. They know our they know, you know. How many times have you gone to a restaurant like Damon, you know food, right? You know, you know a little bit about food, eating a few pounds, right? Have you ever gone to a restaurant and you ask a total, complete stranger, waiter, a waitress, you have the menu in front of you, like, hey, what do I want? Like, do you know it’s like, all right, you know, I’ve been on this planet. How many meals have you had? And you’re talking to a complete stranger, but you’re going to say, like, I can’t decide. What do I want? You know what I mean? Like, it’s so, like, we’re constantly inquisitive. We have decision fatigue. We’re trying to make all these decisions. So to make the assumption that our ideal customer. We call them those soul mates that they know. What you know is just, it’s it’s just, it’s not possible, it’s not possible that they have your information, your passion and purpose on this product. So, man, just stop being the best kept secret and get that information
Damon Pistulka 04:57
out there. Yes, yes, it’s great. And this is for. It doesn’t matter if you’re a lawyer, if you’re a business coach, if you’re a manufacturer of a, you know, contract manufacturer, you could be a CNC machining sheet metal, or you’re an OEM that’s building tractors or lawn mowers or cars or whatever it is, the people that buy your products don’t actually know what goes into them. They just know what it does for them, right? I get my car, turn the key or push the button and I drive down the road, right? I don’t know what all goes in that why my car is a better car, why this is better, or why I’m better. Do I do it and sharing that information, like you said, if you know your soulmate and you’re sharing the right information, it’s helping them make better decisions, just helping them do what they do. And if you’re if your goal is to help people find the best tractor for themselves, tell them about your tractor. Why things are designed the way they are, why this works really good in this situation, why it would not work in this situation to really help your customers make the best decision possible. Everything you can. Read it, I was reading it again in a couple articles this last week about how the changing buyer habits. Everyone wants to be more informed before they buy. They want to know who they’re buying from. They know like and trust, right? Want to be able to search and find information and do that that’s drastically different than buying was a decade or two ago. And live stream, LinkedIn, live specifically is a great way to do it, because we’re doing it on a platform right now, with a lot of business buyers here, lot of people that business buyers, professionals, a lot of people can find your product or service here if you’re doing it right,
Curt Anderson 06:47
right and then. So let’s take it one step further. So link, you know, you could do multiple platforms, right? We’re streaming to YouTube right now. What else we streaming to Facebook. You know, stream to x. We actually stream live on our website. So yes, for folks that are not, you know, if you’re, we target, you know, we’re Gen Xers. So if we target Gen Xers or baby boomers, maybe they’re not active on LinkedIn, we are streaming right to our our website. And so the thing is, you know, a lot of times like, All right, well, how about, you know, how many people are watching it right now? You know, is it? What’s your feedback? As far as, like, you know, the actual audience itself at that moment. What, what are the benefits of like? Why do a live? Why do i Why can’t I just do a video? Why do I need to do a live? Well,
Damon Pistulka 07:29
because the the live gives you the opportunity for people to interact with you and and, you know, some days you’re going to get people that a lot of people are going to interact on top. Some days you may not, but it also then you’re scar you’re on a a social media platform like LinkedIn, with 800 million users. Even, what is it? 300 million users in the US, there’s a lot of people on here. So it doesn’t hurt to put your your content here, your videos here, and then when you look at streaming it to YouTube as well. Now that that’s where people are looking for information, YouTube is the second largest search engine, if I remember right. So get your stuff on there with the right keywords in it, and people will find your information there and learn more about you, because video content is much more digestible for most people than written content is then you can take this even further and go in these other and Facebook again, you should always be if you can go to Facebook, that’s great. You may not get the reach, but there’s just so many users you’re missing out on this. Now, when you look out of all these platforms, today’s not just the day that people are going to watch. People are going to watch this for a period of time, while this is still out there, pushing through the algorithms and everything else to everyone, and then, like a YouTube it’s there for people to find forever, and you’ll get views on these things years later.
Curt Anderson 08:51
Absolutely, yeah, if you’re, you know, if you’re an accounting or a financial planner, and you know you’re doing some debits and credits, or you’re doing some financial tips, I mean, those tips are going to be relevant a year from now, two years from now, five years from now, could be, you know, you’re creating potential evergreen content. You know, if you’re OEM or product manufacturer or distributor, whatever you know, and I’m talking about, you know, this pen, you know, this pen doesn’t change from you know, as time goes on. So the more information that you put it out there, it lives out there. You can create a great archive, library of information, sales enablement tools. So when somebody comes to you and says, you know, say, if you find yourself answering the same questions over and over and over, yes, and now you’re like, hey, you know what? I’m glad that’s an awesome question. As a matter of fact, I interviewed an expert on that very subject. My dear buddy. Damon Pistulka, can I send you a video? As a matter of fact, you don’t have to watch the whole thing, just there’s a time stamp that we have from the live that we did. And, you know, go to minute, don’t, you know, don’t waste an hour. Listen us RAM line. But go to minute 45 and he really dropped some gold there. And then maybe the person digs in deeper. And now you’re just, you know what? As our friend Greg Mishu loves to say, you know that no, like, trust,
Damon Pistulka 10:03
right? Yeah, giving, giving them the information they need to make an informed decision. And it really, it really helps you to effectively communicate, give people the information they need and sell without selling,
Curt Anderson 10:19
right? So and, and on the flip side of that, it even helps for say, if you know, I know, you ever have a bad lead, Damon or somebody that’s, you know, you know, maybe just not the best fit, yeah. And so now, by having all this information, if somebody’s like, hey, you know what, that guy’s not a good fit for me. Hey, we just did each other a huge favor. Why waste your time going on that first date or that first engagement, you know, that first call in, you know, five meetings later. Like, you know, boy, this really isn’t working out. Now. You’ve invested all this time and energy, you know, so it’s just a great opportunity to kind of, you know, we’ve been talking about that quite a bit lately. Like, how do you shift out? You know, maybe folks that were not the best fit for yes, just really get into that. You know, my friend Melissa zerbel always calls it that. You know that zone of genius. You know that unique value proposition, right? Yes.
Damon Pistulka 11:09
And you know that you talk about views. You talked about views a while ago. If you are in the B to B space, or you’re in the space where I’m selling high ticket items, you probably, if you were getting 100,000 views, it’s probably not what you really want. If you got 100 or 1000 views over time of the right people, because you niche down with the name, because we always talk about you say it a lot, niche down until it hurts. You know, if you just get those specific keyword phrases, you can really help your soulmate customers, because they’re going to be searching for that exact thing. And you might only get a few views, but they might be the ones you need. Yeah,
Curt Anderson 11:47
now, so somebody could be listening and push back and say, Well, hey, you know, why wouldn’t I just blog? Or why can I just put out a social post? Anything that you want to chime in there, as far as you know, any skepticism on why to do a live?
Damon Pistulka 11:59
Well, the Live is the the content you generate from a live can be repurposed in so many ways, right? So, you go to a LinkedIn live, like we’re doing today, we take that LinkedIn live and we we have a transcript of that that transcript then becomes a blog post. That blog post, it goes on our website with a, you know, we have the video available on the website too. We also then use that transcript, or pieces of that transcript to create the description that we put in on YouTube. So then that video gets uploaded to YouTube. Now it’s on YouTube as well. We streamed it there, but we update it and put SEO related keywords and other things that we want to put in in YouTube on that video. Then we turn around. Okay, now I’ve got the live first of all, then I’ve got the YouTube video, then I’ve got the blog post. And now what I do is I take the audio version of this thing and I make a podcast out of it, so I can take this live content that we’ve generated today and put it into multiple places to really get it out farther then if I want to the biggest and hottest thing in video right now are shorts. I can take this video, I can drop it into a video editor, and these AI editors, a lot of them, I can make video shorts. I can make three or four or five video shorts, or tan even, out of a 30 to 45 minute thing, and pick the best ones. Now I’ve got that content I can load up on my youtube and that can refer to the longer video and get a lot of views on it. That way. There’s just so many ways that you can really help to take this content, this help for your soulmate customers, and and extend the reach.
Curt Anderson 13:37
Yeah, I totally agree. And you know, we’ll start winding down. You mentioned keywords. Why that SEO was so important? So let me just show you a quick example. So, you know, this is a you know, so SEO success strategies. SEO success strategies, if you go to Google Keyword Planner, there’s significant traffic for people that like, Hey, I you know, I don’t want to be not successful. I want to be successful. And so if you do that Google search, and if you scroll down, you’re like, Hey, I recognize that guy. Hey, I recognize that guy. And a funny thing is, Damon, so we just, you look at this, this, and we’re live right the second, we’re live. So now, if somebody’s catching the sun, replay, you know, I put it out there, it’s what is today, what is today, August 21 right? And so this says, you know, one day ago, one day yesterday, this went live yesterday, this went live. And we’re in here. We’ve got, it’s on your YouTube channel, it’s on my YouTube channel, and Google grabbed it. And I haven’t looked at other keywords, but we’re starting to see these really dramatic, powerful results. Now somebody could push back and say, Yeah, did that make you any money? Well, you know what SEO is, the long game. Come back and let’s have a conversation six months from now, and if not, we’ll have a big guy told you so party, right? But you
Damon Pistulka 14:49
have made money off this. We have gotten clients off this. We have they have found us for these types of keyword phrases and reached out to us and paid. Money for the work that we’ve done, right? It’s it does, and it’s a powerful way to also, like you said, improve your SEO search results, right? So,
Curt Anderson 15:11
kind of recap. So just incredible relationship, building sales enablement, tons of great content SEO, you know, getting that message out there, delivering your value proposition, your unique value proposition, and just, you know, the list goes on, LinkedIn live is really just such a powerful tool. Damon, what do you want to close us out with?
Damon Pistulka 15:32
Well, I just think that if you’ve been considering LinkedIn live, give it a give it a hard look. Take, take a look around. Reach out to one of us if you want. I mean, we’ve done a little bit of this. But, you know, and we’ve, we’ve got a course too that we could, we could share if you really wanted to show you how to LinkedIn live, because this is something we feel so strongly in that we are even going into a deeper and harder for 2025
Curt Anderson 16:00
