Pâtissiere Arshiya’s deep passion for food took her on a journey to Paris, where she trained at the prestigious Ferrandi School of Culinary Arts and worked at renowned establishments like Le Meurice Hotel and Arnaud Delmontel. This experience inspired her to bring authentic French delicacies to Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Together with her husband Aqeel, Arshiya founded Verzênay in 2014, starting at Green City Farmers Market and eventually opening their Lincoln Park store in 2021. Their mission is to craft delicious, high-quality pastries using locally sourced, clean ingredients, supporting both flavor and community.
