Congressman Reed toured our client, Falconer Electronics on August 25, 2020. The entire Falconer Electronics team was blown away by the Congressman’s genuine interest and care for not only the company but also each staff member as individuals.
FALCONER NY— Have you ever borrowed something from you neighbor’s garage?
Well if you have, Roger Hall can one-up you on that. Hall just didn’t borrow something from his neighbor’s garage, he started a business in it.
Hall started Falconer Electronics in 1985 and 35 years later the company has grown from its humble beginnings in a garage to a manufacturing facility located at 421 Everett St., Falconer.
“We like to make things, so we make stuff here,” Hall said.
Hall said following the COVID-19 outbreak in March, the manufacturing facility had to shutdown for a few days, but was up and running again shortly after because they were deemed an essential business because they produce microelectronics. He said the employees went back to work socially distancing themselves and wearing mask even before the state released guidelines on how to restart production.
“We just did the common sense things,” he said.
Hall said he is seeing signs of the economy picking back up. He also shared Falconer Electronics will keep moving forward because of a dedicated staff.
Curt Anderson, Falconer Electronics eCommerce consultant, said the company’s dedicated staff drives the success. Especially since several employees having 10 to 20 years of service.
“The employees never missed a beat,” Anderson said about Falconer Electronic workers going back to work once they received the green light from the state.
Anderson presented Reed with a book he wrote titled “Stop Being The Best Kept Secret,” which is about e-commerce strategies he has implemented at Falconer Electronics to find a new customer base. Anderson also told Reed that Falconer Electronics received the Buffalo Business First Manufacturing Innovation Award this year. Due to the marketing plan developed with the assistance of the Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College, Falconer Electronics’ website traffic increased by 1,000% from November 2017 through January 2019.
Congressman Reed said he wanted to tour the manufacturer because he wanted to show people in New York’s 23rd Congressional District that business and production is still happening during the pandemic.

Excitedly, the company added this product line to the website without producing a single item. Dozens of SKUs were placed on the website without investing in any finished products. All of the raw materials were already in stock. As customers ordered, then the product was produced. Just-in-time worked great.
Also, narrowing the focus helped determine the keyword strategy. Effectively as well as inexpensively.
In addition, the new eCommerce strategy created the R & D department.
Remember, the market tells you what they want. The market lets you know if you have a good idea or a bad one.
Once other manufacturers, industrial customers, and Fortune 500 companies started buying Ground Straps, Falconer Electronics knew they were heading in the right direction.

As the customer continues each step, each spec is plugged into a Quote Summary. This allows the customer to ensure the accuracy of the configuration.
The QuoteBuilder also creates a detailed pic with full specs of the custom created ground strap.
After providing contact information, additional customized quotes may be added on as necessary before the process is completed. Based on the answers provided, a quote is then immediately sent to the customer’s email address.
Excitedly, the email contains a clickable link that allows ease-of-purchase directly through the Falconer Electronics eCommerce shopping cart by simply clicking the “Place Order Now” button.
This lends a tremendous competitive advantage due to the fact that a customer customizes, builds, and can purchase a product immediately.
Furthermore, no waiting for a price from the RFQ. Customers do not need to call to place an order. As a result, even someone at 3:30 AM can build a product and place an order.
